TO IMPROVE morale on the points front, Dartmouth Golf Club’s ladies played a Waltz competition.
In a twist from the usual format, it was triple points on the first six holes, double on the next and then single points on the final six holes. For some, the pressure of a triple pointer did not give the best result – zero stays at zero whatever the multiplier – but others enjoyed the luxury of seeing a nine point score on their card. Jules Vincent was the most successful (81 points), followed by Jan Brooking (74) and Chris Mayer (63).
Dartmouth’s seniors’ annual Winton Foursomes Board Event was held on Monday. With some trepidation, 15 pairs set forth on this challenging competition. Messrs Ward and Graham who finished outright winners with an incredible net 64 appear to have taken full advantage of their most generous handicaps with an outstanding medal round.
