ALPHINGTON FC are the team to beat in the Devon Football League for good reason and Dartmouth AFC learned that the hard way this weekend.
Robbie Bowker’s side, who themselves are enjoying a strong campaign, lost 4-1 on their travels against the league leaders.
This take’s Alphington’s record to 18 wins, three draws and two defeats, totalling 56 points. It isn’t all plain sailing for them though as the University of Exeter are four points behind in second and have two games in hand to cash in.
For Dartmouth meanwhile, they sit sixth with Appledore one point ahead of them and Ottery St. Mary one behind, both of whom have played less games to date.
Ryan O'Callaghan scored the Dartmouth goals whilst Ben Bickle (2), Charlie Dack and Ben Annunziata were on target for the hosts.
Next up for the Darts is a home game at Longcross against fourth-placed Plymouth Marjon.
