FRIDAY saw the culmination of a season's worth of hard work for Salcombe Rugby Club’s junior section and it was rounded off with a big party before sidestepping into a water fight so the kids could cool off and settle some scores. Teary-eyed coaches made their speeches to give the children and parents a deserved send-off.
There were plenty of awards to be given out but every Mini Crab deserves a wealth of praise. Starting with the Under 6s and Sophie M and Rohan M were the lucky duo chosen by their coach.
Gracie C was named as the most improved player, Tabitha S as the coach’s player, Jack C as the player’s player and Iris V as the parent’s player for the U7s. The same awards were given out to U8s with the respective recipients being Zara G, James L, Charlie H and Olivia R.
Finally, to the U9s, and Maggie P was named as the most improved player, Isabella B as the coach’s player, Evie M as the player’s player, Oscar M as the parent’s player and Harley J as the team’s player.
Congratulations go to every player and a big thank you to the parents, volunteers and coaches who helped keep the club functioning. It is very exciting to see where Salcombe RFC can go next season, so if you have a budding rugby superstar in your house of primary school age please get in touch as they would love to meet you.
