Ivybridge Town have been drawn against Barnstaple in the first round of the St Luke's Cup, Devon's leading cup competition.
Open to Devon clubs in Western Premier and above, including the three professional teams from the county, Plymouth Argyle, Torquay United and Exeter City, the competition provides some fascinating local derbies and a real chance for the 'smaller' sides to embarrasss the big boys.
The Bridgers had the pleasure of playing Exeter City last year in front of a big home crowd.
Although they lost 5-2, the experience was still a positive one for the club, and if they beat Barnstaple this year, they will have earned the right to take on Plymouth Argyle.
Manager Brian Howard said: 'It would be superb to play Argyle this season.
'Often the pro clubs don't play their first team in this competition but Exeter put out three of their best in last season's clash so it will be interesting to see what happens.
'Barnstaple are the league above us so we'll have to work hard but would be brilliant to get to the next round.'
