THE stableford competition at Thurlestone on Saturday attracted 44 entries. The winner was Stan Pigott (10) with an excellent 43 points, from Mark Drew (11) with 39 points, writes Liz Line.

Easter Monday saw 18 pairs playing the mixed greensome competition. The winners were Richard and Jane Walker with 40 points.

Last year’s Lady Captain, Sheila Fairley, entertained Diane Jones of Home Start South and West Devon to lunch to present a cheque for £3,000. At the same time Paul Millburn-Fryer presented a cheque for £3,500 to Martin Beck of the Friends of Thurlestone Church.

We also raised a further £536 for Lymphoma Action during the year. 

Wednesday saw 15 entries for the ladies’ medal competition. Only one lady managed to score in the 70s and that was Jane Walker (10) with nett 75.

Junior Finn Robson (34) topped the list of the stableford competition on Saturday, scoring 39 points in very strong winds.
