THE PANTHERS’ eighth end of 74 turned the game against Wrecks in their favour in the Totnes Skittles League.
Captain Matt Monaghan rolled four spares in his nine and was ably supported by Rory Beasley with 83.
AJ Bligh’s three spares from four throws at the tail end of the game for Millers just kept TRFC at bay, teammate Andy Endicott finished with three spares from three throws in his 77 total. Fords’ win over Offcuts keeps them in second spot, if they win their game in hand they will only be a point adrift of Wizzards.
Meanwhile, it remains tight at the top of the ladies’ league with only a point between the top three.
Outsiders’ loss to Meadowbrooks and Gems win over Alley Cats gives them 151 points each with Diamonds just a point behind.
Sam Hodge (Outsiders) continued her fine form with a 3-spare 93 but was outdone by Caitlin Kneil’s 5-spare 97, which should have been more, one spare was only a 9!
Fordetts took a much-needed win, Sarah Life’s 3-spare 91 the highlight. The game was level with two ends to go but Fordetts’ 45-pin eighth end got them into a winning lead.
