IT WAS the ladies’ turn to try and qualify for the KO cup semi-finals this week in the Totnes Skittles League.

All Stars paid for being a woman down, putting up a good fight against Odd Westons and losing out by 16. A 37-pin 7th end from Odd Westons swung the match in their favour.

Anchorwoman Sonia Edwards was the only Diamond to manage a spare as they lost out to Gems. Wendy Northway returned the favour as the only spare hitter for Gems! Gems’ greater consistency got them home. Two games came down to the last end.

Outsiders were 23 pins up with two to go in a back-and-forth clash against Meadowbrooks. The latter needed 42 to win and 16 from Cherry Paul followed by 14 from Emma Challis along with seven apiece from Caitlyn Kneil and Ann Robinson completed the turnaround.

An 8th-end 14-spare from Alley Cat Chris Rive put her team five up going into the final end but with Fordetts set 39 to win, Mandy Sharland (13), Emily Stolworthy (12) and Jane Hingston (7) got the job done.

The semi-final line-up will be Odd Weston v Gems and Meadowbrooks v Fordetts to be played on 8/4/25 @7.00.

Millers mid-match purple patch with an end of 86 followed up by 60 wasn’t enough to upset Wizzards. Keith Worth just missed out on a ‘ton’ for Wizzards finishing with a 9-spare in his 95 total.

Wrecks captain Mike Westaway took a while to warm up but finished with 16, 17, 14 in his 85. Les Steer headed the scoring with a 4-spare 88.

Dan Paul top-scored for TRFC with a 16 and 17 in his 86. Fords’ win over Woodpeckers means they lead going into the final round of league games and they know a win against Wrecks will seal the title.

After a slow start, a 68-pin 2nd end took them into a lead they never relinquished.
