Ivybridge Community College have won the prestigious Plymouth Argyle Kinder +Sport EFL Girls Cup for 2016.
Teams from across the region gathered together for a fantastic tournament, starting with fiercely contested group matches and four teams progressed to the semi-final stage.
Ivybridge, Stoke Damerel, Liskeard and Saltash comprised the final four, with Ivybridge and Stoke Damerel reaching the showpiece match. Ivybridge prevailed in a terrific final and will now move forward to the area finals with the ultimate aim of winning the chance to play at Wembley.
The tournament was lit up by the presence of special guests from Plymouth Argyle Ladies first team, Natasha Knapman, Jessie Boston, Rachel Javan and Amarnie Crabtree, with all participants given free tickets to an Argyle Ladies’ fixture.
The tournament organisers, Plymouth Argyle Community Trust, would like to thank members of the Plymouth Argyle Traineeship programme for refereeing the games and a great day enjoyed by all.
