DARTMOUTH GC seniors held a non-qualifying competition on Monday 10 June.
Mark Whitworth won an event similar to this back in October 2023 and he finished fourth overall this time around thanks to a solid score.
Geoffrey Jewell overshadowed everybody else though, producing one of his best rounds for many a moon with an unblemished gross 77, equating to a whopping 43 points. This included three birdies and nine pars.
Second and third in division one went to Mario Aresti and Tony Hall respectively whilst octogenarian Desmond Graham took the division two spoils after a stunning 21-point back nine.
In other news, a Dartmouth team of Nigel Osborne, Tony King, Richard Bevan and Rob Isaacs Berry came joint-13th out of 35 in the Devon Men’s Veteran Golf Association meeting at Dainton Park, seven points behind the victors.
In the second round of the Blight Trophy, David Sparks beat Mark Whitworth, Michael Whitelaw saw off Steve Maris and Mark Mitchell overcame Robert Wotton.
