DARTMOUTH AFC were beaten 4-1 on Saturday, September 7 in the Devon Football League by Thorverton FC.

Their Twitter page wrote that there was “More rain than clear-cut chances” in the first half with the two teams going into the break goalless.

Just before the hour mark, Thorverton took the lead and then had a second five or so minutes later.

Brad Butterfield struck next and halved the deficit in Dartmouth’s favour, but the visitors had the final say in this one. They added two more goals to make it 4-1 and move up the standings as a result.

Thorverton are on 11 points, four more than Dartmouth, but the latter have played one game less and so could well close that gap.

This defeat leaves Dartmouth winless in three, after beating Topsham Town and Budleigh Salterton in August, with this weekend’s visit to a mid-table Newtown being a great chance for Robbie Bowker’s men to bounce back.
