DARTMOUTH AFC paid their respects and honoured the name of Brian Boughton in more ways than one on the weekend.
The club wrote on their Twitter that he was “A unique character, who will be missed” and the teams observed a minute’s silence at Longcross prior to kick-off.
This was followed up by a home performance that Brian would have been proud of against North Molton FC, winning 4-1 in the Devon Football League.
Kai Graham scored the first two goals for Dartmouth and then Charlie Stevens made it 3-0 on the brink of half-time.
Captain Frazer Clark put the icing on the cake and whilst a late goal for the visitors denied Robbie Bowker’s men a clean sheet, it was still a victory to remember.
Dartmouth are in ninth in the DFL after this result, having won six, drawn one and lost six to date. A cup clash with Budleigh Salterton beckons this weekend.
