PAIGNTON 2nd XI remained hard on the heels of Ivybridge in the C West promotion race after administering a six-wicket defeat on Kingsbridge.
Kingsbridge were all out for 197 with eight balls left of their 45 overs. No batter bettered the 43 extras Paignton chucked their way!
James Ellis (25) and Aaron Chandler (32) put on 46 for the first wicket, which was topped up by Ed Church (28).
Alex Browne (32) steered Kingsbridge as far as 140 for four, after which the innings went into a gentle decline as Arthur Ray (3-45) twirled through the lower order.
Paignton started woefully – openers Sam Simcox and Ray out without scoring – and when Carl McFarlane was removed by Farzad Safi (2-42) it was potentially game on.
Connor Bryan, the Paignton captain, made 45 before he was the fourth and final man out with the chase on 89.
George Woodcock (64) and Neil Hancock (52) put on 113 unbroken to win the game in the 33rd over.
