DEVON will be playing for a place in the NCA Trophy quarter-finals when they face Cornwall at Cornwood on Sunday 23 in their final group game.

Back-to-back wins over Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire hoisted Devon to top spot in their qualifying pool after three rounds.

Berkshire defeated Oxfordshire by wickets at Newbury whilst Devon weren’t in action, so they have been replaced in top spot.

If Devon defeat Cornwall they are guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals as they could not be caught by any of the teams behind them, whereas a defeat could make for a sticky situation.

Net run-rate is the deciding factor when teams finish level and, going into the last round, Devon’s is superior to their rivals. It would take a heavy defeat in a short time frame to change that significantly.

Devon’s team management have stuck with the same XI that defeated Buckinghamshire last time out and added Cornwood pair Ben Beaumont and Matt Skeemer.
