THURLESTONE Tennis Club witnessed another bumper entry for the Bryan Brown mixed doubles tournament, one of the main events in the Holiday Programme.

The round-robin groups were hotly contested with six winners and two lucky losers coming through to the quarter final.

In the semi-final, Tom Hussey and Alice Keddie beat Nick Woodhead and daughter Hannah 4-1 on games. Also, both with brother and sister combinations, Coco Martin and Tom Davis overcame Charlie and Georgina Witter by 4-2.

Tom and Alice then won 6-3 in the final in what was a fantastic match and the club were honoured to have Juliet Fooks, a relative of Bryan Brown, there to present the trophy.

There was a large appreciative crowd watching and the evening was rounded off with food and live music.
