TOTNES Bowling Club has gone through a series of ups and downs in their latest period.
The ‘A’ team had a good win against Paignton Torbay at home, taking 12 points to two, however this success was short-lived following an away loss against Kingsbridge Park, walking away empty-handed from that one.
It was a more promising result in the Foxlands Competition- whilst the home leg was lost, the away team came out on top and so Totnes won by a single shot overall, moving onto the next round.
That one-sided defeat at the hands of Kingsbridge was contrasted by a win for the men’s team in the ‘Top Clubs’ competition, winning five of the six rinks.
The Over 55’s may have only taken two points off of Brixham St. Mary but they were able to win overall against both Paignton Torbay and Torquay.
Totnes Ladies have also had a mixed bag of results, recently achieving a comprehensive win at home against Paignton Torbay but unfortunately suffering a loss when away at Marina in Dawlish.
Friendly matches have continued with matches against Stoke Fleming and Kingsbridge Town. The Stoke Fleming away match went down to the wire and Totnes only lost by two points. Meanwhile the match against Kingsbridge Town for the “Summers Trophy” played at Totnes was impressively dominated by the home side. An away match is planned for later in the season at Kingsbridge Town.
