The halls will be decked, the festive good cheer will be flowing and the tables set for an evening of magical entertainment that will say farewell to the old and ring in the new

December 31 is the date to put on the glitz for a New Year Extravaganza with plenty of sparkle, fizz, delicious dining and festive funkiness as the glitter ball lights up the dance floor: 7pm until the wee small hours of January 1.

So, time to look out your finest sequined frock, get suitably suited and prepare to party! The evening begins with a culinary celebration, created by renowned Head Chef Ian MacDonald, of very fine dining followed by a ‘strictly for fun’ Viva Las Cove Casino - don’t worry you won’t lose your shirt as you roll the dice - then the tables will be cleared away for a boogie wonderland DJ turntable sound fest full of floor-filling tunes and some classic crooning too…

After all that frivolity it’s time to charge your glasses, link arms and get in fine voice for a rousing rendition of Auld Lang Syne before the bells chime to welcome in the New Year. And if you’ve still got the stamina – ‘keep dancing’… the bar will be serving up ‘refreshments’ until 1am.

For the third year, there will be a chamber music festival to bring in the New Year at Dartington Hall from the 30th December to 1st January. This will be organised by John Whibley “Holidays with Music”which undertakes over 30 international music tours a year.

This year, the musicians will be the internationally proclaimed Carducci String Quartet with Garfield Jackson viola and Simon Callaghan.

There will be five concerts:

December 30 - 5.30pm

December 31 - 12pm

December 31 - 6pm

January 1 - 12pm - Viola and piano recital

January 1 - 5.30pm
