Katie Reville from Ivybridge, writing to the letters page last week, is clearly happy to have the whole of the South Hams covered in wind turbines as in her own words they will 'look great' and 'enhance tourism' and save the planet at the same time – quite a claim!

Speaking as one of the 'fanatics' who would like to keep this beautiful part of the world free of these eyesores, I would like to make a suggestion which I hope she will support. We can build all the wind turbines near Ivybridge; as she is clearly not a NIMBY, there won't be any objections......from Katie at least, but I do feel sorry for her neighbours. But don't worry, the tourists will soon be flocking to her town to enjoy this great looking attraction. Next week's Gazette headline: 'Ivybridge Saves the Planet!'
