I’m sure I’m not alone wondering if the collection of recyclable rubbish, ie cardboard and plastics, by the refuse vehicle that crushes the entire contents, as is the general rubbish, ends up being recycled.

There was a time when that rubbish was collected in a vehicle with separate wire cages, for cardboard and plastics, but I haven’t seen one of these for a long time.

The conclusion has to be that to be that, notwithstanding the conscientious separation of rubbish by so many of us, it all ends up in landfill.
