Our lead story focusses on a accident in Dartmouth’s Old Market. A gust of wind caused a large market stall to topple over, trapping a 77-year-old man by his neck – and, as water poured off its awning, soaking him too.
Thankfully, he was quickly freed but he was left shaken and bruised.
The main picture shows Dartmouth Academy students on a trip to the town’s Britannia Royal Naval College where, among other things, they learned the theory behind how ships float.
We flag up two stories inside: one about how leading Westcountry women have been inspiring South Hams students by sharing their stories; the other about World Book Day, which saw some Dartmouth children dressing up as their favourite literary characters and others from Kingswear reading to their elders at a town cafe.
As usual there is also the family announcements, public notices, letters to the editor, Village Voice pages, clubs and societies and what’s on, plus much more inside.
