PEOPLE flocked from far and wide to South Pool on Monday evening for the village’s tenth annual nativity play.

Locals and visitors from as far away as Buckinghamshire came to witness the spectacle centred around the village pub, the Millbrook Inn.

Various houses around the village were used in the interactive play featuring a cast in full costume.

Local farmers provided livestock and hay bales for the nativity scene set in the local inn and the village clubbed together to dress each house in Christmas lights to celebrate the festive period.

The traditional Nativity story was interspersed with Christmas carols accompanied by the Kingsbridge Silver Band.

And roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and sausages ensured all were well fed.

Charlie Baker, owner of the Millbrook Inn, played Joseph the Carpenter, and his wife, Tess, who is nine months pregnant, played Mary.
