A woman has been airlifted to hospital suffering what are believed to be serious injuries following a collision on the main road into Dartmouth.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the A3122 at Halwell as the road is closed in both directions.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a car and a lorry on the A3122 at Dartmouth at around 9.30am this morning.

Police, paramedics and the fire service attended the scene, along with the air ambulance.

A police spokesman said: “The female driver of the car has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital with what are currently believed to be serious injuries.

“The road remains closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
