David Arnold, of Salcombe, writes: We are organising a reunion of the 'Class of 66', that is the students who mostly joined the Kingsbridge Grammar School in 1959 and left the school in 1966, after it had become a Comprehensive. There will, of course, be those who joined later and left earlier who are equally welcome, as are friends from the year to either side of ours. It is nearly 50 years since we graduated and a couple of our friends have sadly passed away. One who died last year is our larger than life classmate Nigel Bushell, whose parents owned The King of Prussia pub, who made national headlines when he was banned from driving to school in his father's black Bentley. The story was syndicated by our good friend the Gazette editor and featured a super photo of Nigel beside the Bentley. The plan is to meet at the college on Monday, April 13, at 2pm, to hear about the success of Kingsbridge Community College and have a tour of the much enlarged site. In the evening we are planning a buffet supper at The Crabshell organised by Linda Lee (nee Harrison) and Alwyn Milburn. We would appreciate everyone confirming attendance by email to me davidisobel@hot mail.com or our head boy, David Brooking, who will be flying in from Australia [email protected]">[email protected]
