Pupils from three schools across South Hams, which are all part of the Learning Academy Partnership, enjoyed an exciting few days full of team building activities during a residential trip.

The children were from West Alvington C of E Academy, Charelton C of E Academy and All Saints Thurlestone C of E Academy. The Key Stage 2 children were treated to a four-day residential programme at Grenville House in Brixham.

Activities included abseiling, canoeing, high ropes, caving and orienteering, and the children also really enjoyed being able to get out and about in the beautiful local area. The pupils were also treated to a day of rafting and canoeing in the harbour and sea, with some of the children even being lucky enough to see dolphins swimming.

Across the four days, the children spent time team building, forging new friendships, developing individual skills, and confidence building, as well as experiencing outdoor pursuits and living together 24 hours a day.

Each of the academies places great importance on providing their pupils with the opportunity to experience a trip away from home. The school residential trips form an important part of growing up and are the perfect opportunity for a valuable learning experience.
