Children from Stoke Fleming Primary School picked plastic from the beach and park, planted bulbs and cleaned a Dartmouth fire engine. The money they raised from their tasks will join that raised by one of their teachers who is to run in the London Marathon.
A spokesman for the school said:”What an amazing week we have had at Stoke Fleming with Superheroes all over the place! On Monday the pupils designed their own superheroes with all sorts of amazing powers to help people interspersed with a few villains as well!
“Tuesday saw an absolutely amazing array of superheroes in school, some of the well known favourites were out on show but there were also a huge number of new individual super heroes too.
“In assembly the pupils were greeted by Mr Girardot, the Head Teacher, with his new haircut, designed and styled by Kassia, the pupil who won a competition for a new haircut. The pink, green and blue spikes were well set off by the ponytail!
“The pupils then took part in the gruelling super assault course designed by Mr Sullivan the sports teacher.
“Finally this week the pupils took part in the beach clean, planting bulbs at the rec and cleaning the Fire engine. An amazing way to help our local community!
“All funds raised are going towards Great Ormond Street Hospital, who Mr Girardot is running the London Marathon on Sunday, April 22.”
