Following Chris Hart's letter concerning the proposed wind turbine at Chivelstone, Gazette, November 11, I have to agree with his approval of what the local farmers do to maintain the beauty of this land.

The danger, of course, is that we are liable to take it all for granted.

We are all aware that this is a stunningly beautiful area, with fine looking villages, wonderful views encompassing hills, valleys and estuaries, as well as breathtaking coastlines.

But do we care enough to make sure that such an abomination as an 85ft-tall wind turbine is not allowed to dominate what most of us hold so dear?
