Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) will be delivering more affordable homes in Ivybridge after securing a further 24 energy-efficient homes in the South Hams.

PCH is the largest social housing landlord in Plymouth, managing 16,000 homes within the city, as well as across the surrounding drive to work area.

The 24 new homes, consisting of one-bedroom flats and two and three-bedroom houses are being purchased within the Filham Chase development in Ivybridge.

Of the 24 homes, 14 will be offered for affordable rent and 10 homes will be made available for shared ownership through the sales brand SO Living.

The homes will be prioritised to those with a local connection to the area to meet the specific needs of the community, which has been made possible thanks to the support from key partner, South Hams District Council.

The Filham Chase development is being built by Bloor Homes and is located close to Ivybridge town centre, with great access routes to the A38 and local primary and secondary schools.

Claire Baldry, Project Manager at PCH, said: “Following the success of the last phase at Filham Chase, we are once again pleased to be working with Bloor Homes to help deliver much needed, affordable housing for our residents.”

Ken Allen, Group Director of Partnerships at Bloor Homes, said: “It is great to be working with Plymouth Community Homes on the continuation of the next phase at our Ivybridge development.

“We have already handed over eight affordable homes to them, as well as seven additionality units, and this phase will deliver an additional 14 affordable rent and 10 shared ownership homes for local people to meet their housing need.

The homes which are to be offered for rent or shared ownership sale through PCH will be available from Spring 2025.

All available homes to rent in Devon are advertised on Devon Home Choice, a partnership of local social landlords. To bid for a property or to be considered for a tenancy, registration will need to be completed using their online application form.
