THE Kingsbridge seasonal lights display, managed by Kingsbridge Town Council, is growing year on year.

This year’s new installations are street lamp displays around Quay roundabout, cross-street displays in Bridge Street and stars at the Information Centre and Quay House. These complement the traditional illuminations in Fore Street, Mill Street and the Town Square.

Clerk to the town council, Martin Johnson, said: ‘None of this would happen without the generosity and support of shops and businesses which supply electricity to the cross-street displays free-of-charge so that the whole community can enjoy them.

‘Therefore huge thanks go to: Marchand Petit estate agents, Mange Tout delicatessen, Lidstones butchers, Pete’s clothing, Windeatts solicitors, Peter Betteridge, HSBC bank, Milburns shoes, Moyseys Interiors, Fulfords estate agents and Harbour Bookshop.

‘This year Costa Coffee and Age Concern have joined the ranks of sponsors. The Town Council is also extremely grateful to Toad Hall Cottages for again purchasing the Christmas Tree at the edge of the Town Square.

‘Looking ahead, future plans include the installation of more street lamp displays in the town centre and supplying in-fill displays where possible in Fore Street.’

Please let your local council know how they are doing as any ideas will be well received. Kingsbridge Town Council can be contacted at: [email protected] or 01548 853296.
