IVYBRIDGE Leisure Centre has been forced to close some of its facilities following an incident at the weekend.
The swimming pool, squash courts and showers are currently closed until further notice, and some children’s swimming lessons were cancelled on Monday.
In an update on its Facebook page the centre, which is run by Taunton company Tone Leisure, blamed ’unforeseen circumstances’ for the disruption.
The centre said: ’Today’s swimming lessons have been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances - we are trying our hardest to resolve the issue.
’Updates will be posted on Facebook and on our website.
’Please share this post with other parents who attend swimming lessons with us, we are contacting parents currently regarding the lesson cancellations.’
The company did not specify exactly what the problem was, and a response to our enquiries is awaited.
