KINGSBRIDGE Town Council and West Alvington Parish Council have worked together to produce two new interpretation boards.
The new boards, created by local graphic designer Christie Powers, are now in place at Kingsbridge Cemetery and on the pathway to the right of West Alvington Parish Hall.
A spokesman for Kingsbridge Town Council said: ‘The increasing interest in our wonderful heritage and natural history has made the need to identify and explain places of interest an important part of public information and tourism.
‘With this in mind, Kingsbridge Town Council and West Alvington Parish Council have successfully worked together to make an application to the Town And Parish Fund, jointly funded by Devon County Council and South Hams District Council for two new interpretation panels within the area. ‘Kingsbridge already had panels at the head of the estuary and Britton’s Field and it was important to make sure the designs for the new panels were in keeping with these.
‘The local councils are indebted to graphic designer Christie Powers, who researched the project and gave the panels a wonderful artistic edge whilst retaining the need for accurate historical facts.’
