WEST Charlton now has a defibrillator in the newly refurbished phone box in the village.

The phone box has been refurbished by the town council and now has a new lick of paint and ‘DEFIBRILLATOR’ written around the top.

Cllr Rex Brown, who was chairman when the project commenced in Spring 2016, has worked with the current chairman Cllr Joe Gordon, to get the phone box refurbished and a defibrillator installed.

Rory Sanders, Chris Cross, Clive Bigness, Robert Jeffrey, Owen Morgan and Ben Rogers also helped bring the project to fruition and they thanked Georgina Morgan, who lives next door, for the use of her electricity to run tools and equipment.

The Charleton Parish Council has purchased two defibrillators in association with the British Heart Foundation, so there is now one in the phone box and one on the wall of Ashby’s Easy Stores in East Charleton.
