Gerry Miles, of Weymouth Park, Hope Cove, writes:
Could someone please explain to me the reason or logic for allowing a herd of Highland cattle to graze on the Coast Path between Bolberry Down and Soar Mill Cove?
They are not only a hazard to the many hikers, especially those with dogs, but they have also churned the path into a muddy quagmire in places.
Returning up the slope from Soar Mill Cove on Sunday afternoon, we were confronted by five cows galloping down the hill towards us at full tilt.
There are acres upon acres of pasture on South Down Farm at the moment with not a single animal in sight.
Will someone see common sense and take the appropriate action before the inevitable happens?
