A community event bringing together groups and organisations within the town is being held this weekend.
Dartmouth Together has organised a community event and the groups represented on the day will show the range of things to do within the town.
The community is invited to attend the event and find out what is available within the area on Saturday, April 27.
Dartmouth Together was set up to develop the concept of “social prescribing” in the town and the surrounding villages.
The aim of this is to help people be more connected with others and for them to remain in better control of their health and lives.
Dartmouth Together has said it hopes its expansion will occur through ensuring there is a better connected community, one where more people are aware of the support and opportunities that already exist.
While different aspects of Dartmouth Together will be more relevant to some than others, the group hopes feeling connected will become a common goal.
The groups represented on the day will be: the AA, Alzheimer’s Society, Dartmouth Art Society, Dartmouth Bell Ringers, Dartmouth Community Orchard, South Hams CVS, Dartmouth Caring, Dartmouth Green Partnerships, Devon Carers, Dartmouth Gig Club, 1st Dartmouth Guide Unit, Healthwatch Devon, Dartmouth History Research Group, Devon Recovery Learning Community, Dartmouth Shokotan Karate Club, Dartmouth Mayflower 400, Dartmouth Medical Practice, Dartmouth Museum Association, Dartmouth Club de Pétanque, Patient’s Participation Group, Friends of Rowcroft Hospice, Dart Sailability, Dartmouth Unit of the Sea Cadets, Fusion, Dartmouth Tourist Information Centre, South Western Ambulance Service, Swim4Health, Dartmouth U3A, U3A sports, Dartmouth Food Bank, Dartmouth Walk and Talk and Dartmouth Yacht Club.
It will be running from 10am to 2pm at the Flavel.
