Wilde Blondes, Yellow Hammers and Barn Screechers were among the tantalisingly tempting tipples on offer at Dartmouth Rotary’s Beer Festival, which raised more than £3,000 for charity.

A weekend of tasting saw a variety of special ales and ciders to sample at The Flavel Arts Centre, Dartmouth, from October 18 - 20.

Festival organiser Martin Judd said the event - which had been brought back after an absence of some four years - was a ‘must attend’ in the social calendar of the town and that it had been a fun and friendly occasion enjoyed by hundreds of people over the course of the three days.

He said: ‘There were over 25 different craft beers and ciders from local and national brewers, carefully chosen to offer some familiar names as well as ones that were perhaps lesser well known.

‘Tasting notes were provided to help with the overall experience and as well as some great beers, there was also a wine bar, live entertainment and food.

‘We owe a big thank you to our sponsors, whose support made such a difference to the success of the festival.’

Performers included Mick and Lucy, Alfi Romeo, Viki Philipps, The Hairbrush Diva and sea shanties from All Hands on Deck.

Table magic was also provided by Lez the Fez and a selection of fresh food was served up by independent caterer The Greedy Table.

Martin added: ‘We received several compliments on the range of beers on offer, the variety and quality of the music and catering and the general ambience throughout.

‘A good time was had by all and importantly, Dartmouth Rotary raised over £3,000 for local charities, including the Flavel.’
