Pam Davenport, of Berry Cottages, Ivybridge, writes: Devon County Council is closing a local road for six weeks from January 5 to lay a cable from the Langage power station to a solar farm at the old Lee Moor clay works. The contractor is Taylor Plant. It means that the road from Kingsway to Langage Cross and then to Beechwood Cross will be closed, creating a massive traffic flow down narrow roads to Hemerdon and Colebrook. The local zoo might lose customers, who will not being able to get there without taking a diversion of several miles. The villages of Cornwood and Lutton Sparkwell will also lose a vital link to Plympton and the A38. The planning application is DCC/3689/2014, which can be accessed online at the county council's website.
