A book being sold to raise money for the repairs to St Sylvester’s Church, Chivelstone, us being launched tomorrow night.

Held on Wednesday, May 17, between 6-8pm in the East Prawle Community Hall, the book launch will see author Kate Jennings launch her book, East Prawle Through the Ages.

Kate is the secretary of the East Prawle History Society and has worked to produce a database of local photographs and information, which has led her to writing her book.

Vicky Tucker, chair of the East Prawle History Society, said: “Kate has been writing the book on the History of Prawle for about seven years, she talked to local people and became more and more interested in all the historic details of the area.

“Hence we have a wonderful detailed record of East Prawle and the surrounding community through the ages.

“Kate has generously said that profit from the book will go to Chivelstone Church Restoration Fund.”
