Dartmouth Rotary held their beer festival to raise funds for The Flavel Arts Centre and Rowcroft Hospice.
Four months organisation went into the two day event where more than 22 barrels beer and 80 litres cider were consumed. Live music from local musicians entertained the visitors.
Rotary Vice President Alan Depledge said: “Volunteers from Dartmouth Rotary and partners, Rowcroft, Torbay Rotary clubs, CAMRA members and The Flavel all helped by serving drinks from the bar. "The Flavel staff were fantastic in supporting the event over the four days of setting up, running and dismantling everything afterwards with help from Dartmouth Rotary.
“All our sponsors and supporters were wonderful and a special thanks to Bays Brewery who supplied all the racking and equipment to serve our beers.
“As a result of all this we managed to raise £4,000 from the event and this was split 50/50 between The Flavel Arts Centre and Rowcroft Hospice. The cheques have now been handed over to both of these brilliant organisations.”
The Rotary hope that this event will become a regular annual fund raiser. The beer festival held on Friday, February 15 to Saturday, February 16, was held at the Flavel Arts Centre.
