Windows of seven local businesses were smashed overnight, with the lock broken on another.
The Old Market in Dartmouth was targeted overnight, between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, with traders arriving in the morning to broken glass everywhere.
The Market Cafe, the Hardware Store, Key Cutting shop, Dart to Mouth Deli, Chantilly Lace, Foxy Exchange and the Rest Centre all had their windows smashed, with the lock being broken on the Dartmouth Pet Foods.
It is not yet known if anything was stolen.
The market was previously targeted at the end of August last year.
At a Dartmouth Town Council meeting in September, CCTV was discussed for the market, with Cllr Fyson saying “if cameras had been in place before the most recent break in, the police would have a better case against those they think are responsible”.
