A man has been charged over the death of a charity worker.

Jamie Symons, 27, was killed when he was in collision with a car on College Way, Dartmouth, close to Britannia Royal Naval College.

Adam Bodinnar, 20, of Britannia Avenue, Townstal, has been charged with causing death by inconsiderate driving; causing death by driving while unlicensed; failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident. He will appear before magistrates at Newton Abbot on Wednesday, March 7.

Bodinnar, in his twenties, is a former Dartmouth Academy student.

Mr Symons, who lived and worked at the Ash Rescue Centre charity, just outside Dartmouth, died after he was hit by a car on Wednesday, September 26, last year.
