Police are investigating after a car was deliberately driven at a teenage cyclist in Ivybridge.
The 13-year-old was forced off his bike when a male driver swerved towards him on Woolcombe Lane on Wednesday, July 24.
Mum Leanne Favreau said her son suffered minor injuries as a result.
Devon and Cornwall Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Leanne said: “It’s very frightening that someone would do this.
“He is certain that it was deliberate because there’s no other reason that they’d swerve like that.
“He was very annoyed because he feels that kids can’t play anywhere anymore.”
Leanne, who works as a cleaner at Ivybridge Community College, said that her son is always respectful of other road users.
She said he was out playing with his friends when the man drove at him.
Leanne continued: “I’m just angry that somebody could do something so dangerous to a child.
“What was going through their mind?
“My son’s entitled to use the road like everybody else, we all share the roads.”
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman said: “A 13-year-old boy from Ivybridge was riding his bike at the side of the road when a male driver approached in his car.
“The car swerved towards the boy, causing him to fall off the bike. He sustained cuts to his knee and leg.”
